Big Brothers Mentoring

The Big Brothers mentoring program provides boys and young men with a role model to talk to and share the experiences of growing up with. Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee, which is built on trust and common interests, and is supported by our experienced case-workers. The result is a life-changing experience for both the mentor and the mentee.
The Big Brothers mentoring program usually requires two regularly scheduled outings a month of a few hours each and a minimum of a one year commitment.
Big Sisters Mentoring

The Big Sisters mentoring program provides girls and young women with a role model to talk to and share the experiences of growing up with. Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee, which is built on trust and common interests, and is supported by our experienced case-workers. The result is a life-changing experience for both the mentor and the mentee.

Career Mentoring

Career Mentoring focuses on matching youth 13-18 years with a professional Mentor currently working in the field the mentee is most interested in exploring.Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee, which is built on trust, common interests, and is supported by our experienced case-workers. The result is a life-changing experience for both the mentor and the mentee.
Career mentoring program usually requires two regularly scheduled outings a month of a few hours each and a minimum of a one year commitment.
Site-Based Mentoring

Site-Based mentoring program provides youth with a role model and a friend to talk to and share the experiences of growing up. Meetings take place within The B-Hive. For one hour a week, mentors meet with their mentee and engage in activities such as board games, crafts or just hang out on here on site.
Site-Based Mentoring programs requires a weekly visit of one hour for the duration of the school year. Matches do not meet over the summer break or during other school holidays.
Bigs In Blue

Similar to the In-School Mentoring program, Bigs in Blue offers one on duty police officer in uniform matched with one student; spending time together during school time, on campus doing varied non-academic activities.
Group
Go Girls! Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds!

Go Girls! is a group mentoring program for girls ages 12-14 that focuses on physical activity, balanced eating and self-esteem. The single, most important goal of the program is to positively shape the lives of young women and girls by helping them build a positive self-image – setting them on a path to reach their full potential in life.
The Go Girls! program has seven 90 minute sessions.

Game On! Eat Smart, Play Smart!

Game On! is a group mentoring program for boys 12-14 years that provides information and support about a range of healthy lifestyle practices. Through non-traditional physical activities, complemented with healthy eating support, participants are engaged in life skills, communication, and emotional health discussions designed to engage participants in the pursuit of life-long healthy lifestyles.
Game On! includes seven 90-minute mentoring sessions.

BEYOND THE BOX!

Beyond The Box! is a group mentoring program that aims to empower all youth (ages 12 -15) and build a sense of belonging through group activities.
Beyond The Box! builds on existing Go Girls! and Game On! programming to provide youth with a more inclusive experience by creating a safe and and welcoming space where youth can learn about allyship and how they can advocate for themselves as well as their community. As such, it aligns with our core values and researched-based programs that promote mental health and well-being, social emotional competency and educational engagement and employment readiness.
Beyond the Box! Includes seven 90-minute mentoring sessions.
The Spring Session of Beyond the Box will run Tuesdays from 4:30pm-6:00pm at the Bhive starting Tuesday, March 21st.
Camp URU 2023

Welcome to Camp URU! Camp URU is a fun-filled day camp for children aged 9-12 years, created and delivered by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington. Through weekly themes and engaging activities presented by our trained camp counsellors, campers will be empowered to explore self-compassion, being a good friend, healthy lifestyle choices and volunteerism. Camp URU is run in-person from 8:30 am- 4:30 pm Monday to Friday and is located in the BHive at 900 Tower St. S Unit 100A.
