Big Brothers Mentoring

The Big Brothers mentoring program provides boys and young men with a role model to talk to and share the experiences of growing up with. Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee, which is built on trust and common interests, and is supported by our experienced case-workers. The result is a life-changing experience for both the mentor and the mentee.

The Big Brothers mentoring program usually requires two regularly scheduled outings a month of a few hours each and a minimum of a one year commitment.

Big Sisters Mentoring

The Big Sisters mentoring program provides girls and young women with a role model to talk to and share the experiences of growing up with. The result is a life-changing experience for both the mentor and the mentee.

Career Mentoring

Career Mentoring focuses on matching youth 13-18 years with a professional Mentor currently working in the field the mentee is most interested in exploring.Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee, which is built on trust, common interests, and is supported by our experienced case-workers. The result is a life-changing experience for both the mentor and the mentee.

Career mentoring program usually requires two regularly scheduled outings a month of a few hours each and a minimum of a one year commitment.

Site-Based Mentoring

Site-Based mentoring program provides youth with a role model and a friend to talk to and share the experiences of growing up. Meetings take place within The B-Hive. For one hour a week, mentors meet with their mentee and engage in activities such as board games, crafts or just hang out on here on site.

Site-Based Mentoring programs requires a weekly visit of one hour for the duration of the school year. Matches do not meet over the summer break or during other school holidays.

Bigs In Blue

Similar to the In-School Mentoring program, Bigs in Blue offers one on duty police officer in uniform matched with one student; spending time together during school time, on campus doing varied non-academic activities.

Go Girls! Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds!

Go Girls

Go Girls! is a group mentoring program for girls ages 12-14 that focuses on physical activity, balanced eating and self-esteem. The single, most important goal of the program is to positively shape the lives of young women and girls by helping them build a positive self-image – setting them on a path to reach their full potential in life.

The Go Girls! virtual program includes seven 60-minute mentoring sessions.

Next 7 week session starts Tuesday, April 20 – June 1, 2021.

Game On! Eat Smart, Play Smart!

Game On! is a group mentoring program for providing boys 12-14 years that provides information and support about a range of healthy lifestyle practices. Through non-traditional physical activities, complemented with healthy eating support, participants are engaged in life skills, communication, and emotional health discussions designed to engage participants in the pursuit of life-long healthy lifestyles.

Game On! Virtual edition includes seven 60-minute mentoring sessions.

Our next  7 Week Virtual Session starts Wednesday, April 21 – June 2, 2021.

Camp URU 2021

CAMPURU2020

Camp URU is a week long day camp ideal for children aged 9-12 (Grades 4-6).  Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington has created 6 weekly themes to meet the needs of all campers.  Our in-person camp runs from 8am-4:30pm Monday to Friday and is located at the BHive at 900 Tower St. S., Unit 100A.

Camp URU is also a virtual camp for 3 hours each day. You can select a morning session (9am-Noon) or an afternoon session (1-4pm) and all programming is based off of the Go Girls and Game On Programs. The focus of our camp is to build strong social-emotional skills that develops self-compassion and positive self-image.
