One to One Mentoring

Big Sibs

Community Mentoring Program – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington

Our Community Mentoring Program matches young people with caring adult role models to talk to, spend time with, and share the experiences of growing up. Through regular outings and shared activities, a meaningful relationship develops between the mentor and mentee—one built on trust, mutual respect, and common interests, and supported by our experienced caseworkers.

This mentoring experience is often life-changing for both the young person and the volunteer.

Mentors typically commit to two regularly scheduled outings per month, each lasting a few hours, for a minimum of one year.

In-School Mentoring / Site-Based Mentoring

In-School Mentoring program requires a weekly visit of one hour for the duration of the school year. This program is non academic focused but instead offers a mentee a role model and a friend to talk to while doing fun activities such as crafts, playing sports, baking and more! Matches do not meet over the summer break or during other school holidays.

Site-Based mentoring program provides youth with a mentor to talk to and share the experiences of growing up. Meetings take place within The B-Hive. For one hour a week, mentors meet with their mentee and engage in activities such as board games, crafts or just hang out on here on site.
