In March 2020 the B-Hive, presented by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington opens.

The B-Hive is a safe space for youth that will offer programs and services that will build their social emotional competence, mental health and wellbeing, and educational engagement and employment readiness.

After several losses of youth to suicide in our community, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington knew we had serve youth better. With the support of a Youth Action Committee to inform and guide our direction, the generosity and commitment of many community partners, and years of hardwork and planning the time has finally come to open our doors.

When we open our doors we will welcome youth into a safe space called the B-Hive with programs and services that have had the direction and input from youth. Our Youth Action Committee has regularly been engaged to ensure that each element of the space: from the name to the types of programs and services, to the look and feel within the space itself, reflects the information we gathered from youth.  This approach has been an integral part of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington’s approach to serving better because “The B-Hive  . . . by youth for youth.”
